Celebrating Volunteers’ Week – Thank you to our involved residents

This Volunteers’ Week, we’ve been celebrating the incredible residents who generously give their time, energy, and ideas to help shape and improve the services we provide, for the benefit of their fellow residents too.

Across the week, we’ve been sharing stories and updates on social media about our volunteering opportunities, what they mean to those involved, and how others can get started. From our well-established involvement groups to fresh, flexible ways to have your say, there’s something for everyone.

One of our latest initiatives is the Fairhive Influencers pilot, a resident voice group focused on what matters most to our communities. In our first session, residents explored themes like communication, involvement, and how we can better connect. One key topic was reviewing our Residents News magazine and what they would like to see featured in future editions. The group provides a relaxed, open environment where participants can share honest feedback, raise ideas we may not have considered, and help spark positive change.

We’re also excited to launch HiveView, a brand-new digital-only group designed to be as flexible and accessible as possible. It’s perfect for residents who want to contribute but may not have the time to attend meetings or visit our offices. HiveView members receive occasional emails with surveys, polls, or documents to review, all from the comfort of their own home and at a time that suits them. Best of all, they still enjoy the same recognition and rewards as all our other valued volunteers.

To round off the week, we were delighted to host a thank-you afternoon tea for our involved residents. Over tea, cake, and great conversation, we celebrated the fantastic contributions of our volunteers who help shape our services and strengthen our neighbourhoods. Take a look at some of the photos capturing the essence of the afternoon!

To all our incredible volunteers, thank you. Your time, insight, and dedication help us build stronger, more connected communities where everyone’s voice is heard.
