Meet One of Our Volunteers
"I’m Paula, I have been a volunteer for around two years and I currently attend the Residents’ Forum meetings online. I became a volunteer because my Neighbourhood Manager suggested I might be useful as a resident representative. I had some spare time as I was nearly retired. Although I’ve had health issues which meant stepping back from some groups, the Community Engagement Team have been very supportive, and I now attend via Teams. I’ve really enjoyed meeting the management teams and understanding the ‘why’ of what volunteers do. The volunteers are knowledgeable and help Fairhive meet legislative requirements.
I’ve learned a lot through online sessions and enjoy meeting residents from other Housing Associations across the UK who have similar concerns. I want to work with all ages — we have great knowledge now, but I’d love to learn from younger residents too."
