Frequently Asked Questions about the BHA transfer

Frequently Asked Questions

What does joining together mean?

From Monday 9th January Buckinghamshire Housing Association will no longer exist as our two housing associations join together. This means we will take over delivering services for all former BHA residents, ensuring we are safeguarding residents and their homes, long into the future.

Will there be a period of transition?

We join together on Monday 9th January, however most of your services will remain the same (such as responsive repair services) while we work to deliver the changes across all BHA residents. You will be informed of any changes and we will add information about related service updates on this page.

I claim Universal Credit, do I need to do anything?

You will need to update your claim to make sure it states Fairhive Homes Limited.

How do I report a repair?

You can get in touch with our Contact Centre by phone (01296 732600) or email (contact@fairhive.co.uk). When you contact us you will be redirected to team allocated to your area or query, please provide your address so we can make sure you have the appropriate support. If you have an emergency repair please call our 24 hour repairs line: 0800 542 8904.

Who will carry out repairs on my property?

For the immediate period after 9th January we will continue to provide repairs in the way you are used to, until we expand our repairs services to all properties. Repairs for a small number of properties located near to Aylesbury will be carried out by Fairhive operatives and we will write to these residents individually. When you call our Contact Centre you will be redirected to the team allocated to your area or query. We will inform you of any future changes to our repairs processes. We aim to respond to emergency out of hours repairs within four hours of the report being raised.

As a Together with Tenants landlord what involvement opportunities do you have?

Asking for and listening to resident views and opinions is a top priority for us. We have lots of different ways that residents can have their say from registering on IMPACT, to hearing the latest news and taking part in surveys. Being a member of our engagement database means you can take part in various activities including lots of ways to get involved with your local community at drop in’s, training workshops, applying for Nurture your Neighbourhood improvement, and school holiday activities for families. Sign-up to be the first to hear about all of our opportunities by emailing hello@fairhive.co.uk.

Fairhive Homes and Buckinghamshire Housing Association to join forces

This year, we have joined with Buckinghamshire Housing Association Limited (BHA) to become a single combined housing association, delivering homes and services for those in housing need across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas. Photo of a man smiling with a quote (Matthew Applegate, Chief Executive at Fairhive)

Our union will create an opportunity to enhance combined services, create value for money benefits, and enable the build of more affordable homes in areas where they are desperately needed.

As a housing provider, we own and manage 8,500 homes and deliver services to over 20,000 residents in Buckinghamshire and beyond. Stokenchurch-based BHA had a housing stock of 500 homes and provided services to 1,000 residents in a similar geographical area to us. We now service all of these properties as Fairhive.

More information will be available on this page for BHA residents to refer to regarding the changes they are likely to experience.
