Right to Buy and Acquire

model house being heldIf you have been a Fairhive tenant continuously since the stock transfer from Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) in 2006 then you probably qualify for the Right to Buy. If you are eligible you will be given a discount on the purchase price of up to £87,200 depending on how long you have been our tenant.

You are not entitled to the Right to Buy if you live in a bungalow and if you were over 60 when you started the tenancy.

If you are a tenant due to a mutual exchange or because you inherited the tenancy, please contact us.

If you became our tenant since the stock transfer from Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) in 2006 and if you have three or more years as a tenant in social housing (anywhere, not just with us) then you probably qualify for the Right to Acquire. The Right to Acquire discount is a fixed £13,500.

Some rural areas are excluded from the Right to Acquire scheme. Please contact us if you want to be sure.

If you would like to apply, please email the Home Ownership Team or call us on 01296 732600  where our contact centre can pass you though.
