Our Welfare Team delivers £81,000 Energy Support boost to residents

Our Welfare Team is proud to share the success of a recent energy support initiative that has made a real difference to the lives of our residents.

Thanks to funding totalling £81,081, secured from the Household Support Fund, we were able to support 820 residents who are pensionable age, living in an EPC-rated D and below property with a £99 energy voucher. Each voucher was sent with information about advice and support to manage their energy usage and to stay warm this winter.

This funding comes at a particularly important time, as many residents face rising costs for food, fuel and household essentials. The vouchers can be used to top up prepayment meters or transferred to a bank account for those who pay by direct debit.

We’ve been overwhelmed with heartfelt feedback from residents who’ve benefited from the project. Here are just a few of their words:

"When I opened my post yesterday and found the energy support voucher I could hardly believe my eyes. I had no idea anything like that was being considered. It has arrived at a crucial time for me. I am really grateful."

"It was a delightful surprise to receive your letter this morning. I'm simply writing to express my gratitude for your considerable kindness and generosity. Your voucher for £99.00 is greatly appreciated."

"A very big thank you to the welfare team. I really appreciated the fact that Fairhive/welfare really care about their residents. This meant so much to me, thank you so much!"

"Please convey to the department responsible our thanks for the Energy Voucher received. It was most welcome and appreciated."

The initiative was designed to reduce the burden of energy bills while connecting residents with wider support services. If you’ve received a voucher and are unsure how to use it, please visit your local Post Office with your prepayment card, or ask them to deposit it into your bank account if you pay by direct debit.

If you, or someone you know, are struggling to heat your home or afford electricity, please get in touch with our Welfare Team. The team is also on hand to provide benefit checks, help with applications, and offer advice and support if you're experiencing financial hardship. Learn more on our Welfare & Benefits page.
