The latest edition of our Residents News is on its way and will be landing on doorsteps and in your email inboxes next month.

For the latest issue of Residents News, we ran a ‘changing seasons’ drawing competition open for any residents to enter and showcase their artistic flare.

As the winter season approaches, there are things you can do to ensure that your home is ready to withstand a cold snap. To help you prepare, we’ve drawn up some useful steps to ensure your home is ready to weather the cold months ahead.

In September, we ran a community fete at our Independent Living Scheme in aid of residents getting to know their neighbours better and find out more information on village networks.

We’ve been celebrating Black History Month (BHM) among our teams internally and on our social media channels as an opportunity to learn and share more about inspirational accomplishments in black culture. 

Each year, we publish an Annual Report to residents, so we can measure and show how the business is performing. These are all published on our website and are available for residents, stakeholders, and colleagues to read through and see where we are achieving well and some areas for focus for coming years.

Did you know that as a resident of our community, you have access to our Springboard Grants, which provide you with up to £300 to spend on activities that will boost your health & wellbeing, education, training, or job prospects?

Have you been contacted to make a disrepair claim or been asked whether you have outstanding repairs by someone other than your landlord?

The cost of living increases continue to impact everyone in our community in a variety of different ways. Earlier in the summer, we sent out a Cost of Living Toolkit booklet to all our residents to ensure that everyone had access to useful resources and tips for any time that these might come in handy.

The Thriving Communities Fund has provided funding for residents and community groups since the AVDC partnership in 2007, known as Community Chest. The Fund has now been our independent grant programme for five years. As we promote our 6^th year in operation as the Thriving Communities Fund, we remain passionate about supporting local communities where we can and enriching the lives of our residents and their neighbourhoods

The results are in, and we are thrilled to showcase the winning Gardens for this year's Great Gardens Competition!
