The wait is over. We're pleased to announce the winners of our 2026 Great Gardens Competition.

This year’s entries showed just how much time, care and pride our residents put into their gardens. From colourful flower displays and impressive vegetable plots to well-kept communal spaces, the standard was incredibly high.

Our judges had a tough job choosing the winners, but after careful consideration, awards were presented in three categories.

Best Overall Garden

Our Best Overall Garden winner impressed the judges with a beautiful display of colour and imagination. The thoughtfully landscaped garden made excellent use of the space, with vibrant flowers and planting creating interest in every corner.

The judges praised the resident’s hard work and attention to detail, noting how welcoming and well maintained the garden was. They felt it had the look and feel of a professionally designed show garden, while still reflecting the personality and care of the gardener behind it.

Best Communal Garden

This year’s Best Communal Garden stood out for its thoughtful design and strong community feel. Filled with a variety of flowers, shrubs and plants, the garden was exceptionally well cared for and provided a welcoming space for residents to enjoy together.

The judges were particularly impressed by the bug house, which helps support local wildlife and adds an extra feature to the garden. They praised the effort that had gone into creating a space that is not only attractive but also benefits nature and brings people together.

Best Edible Garden

The winner of our Best Edible Garden category demonstrated just how productive a garden can be. The plot was filled with an impressive range of home-grown produce, including grapevines and pear, apple and plum trees, alongside a greenhouse packed with fruit and vegetables.

As well as providing a plentiful harvest, the garden attracted a wide range of pollinators and wildlife, helping to create a thriving and biodiverse space. The judges were impressed by the variety of produce on display and the care taken to create a garden that is both beautiful and environmentally friendly.

A huge thank you to everyone who entered this year’s competition and congratulations to all our winners and runners-up. The standard of entries this year was outstanding, and we hope these gardens inspire even more residents to get involved, plant something new, and make the most of their outdoor spaces.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Great Gardens Competition!
